The Christmas Tree

A forgotten Christmas tree
Sat lonely in the woods;
It wasn't chosen to adorn
Some parlor as it could.
It wanted to be beautiful,
Bedecked with baubles bright,
And lit at night with fancy globes
To be a splender sight.
The birds and forest creatures
Must have known it's woe,
For soon there came upon it
Two rabbits and a doe.
They bedded down on neddles
Beneath the lonesome pine,
And birds flew on the branches
As if by great design.
And an iridescent bluebird
Made a sudden stop
On the very tallest branches;
It made a brillient top.

Soft snowflakes started falling,
And soon,all flocked in white,
The little tree was lovely,
And quite an awesome sight.
For there was not a parlor
Anywhere in the land
That had a little Christmas tree
More stately or more grand.
