Snowfall
By Louise Pugh Corder
The snow fell softly in the night, Adorned the trees in robes of white, Bowed graceful branches to the ground, And frosted earth without a sound, Etched fragile stars on windowpane, Spread fluffy carpet on the lane.
Of barren fields there is no trace; The whole farm wears a fresh new face. The orchard, mill, and fence all look Like pictures in a storybook. The Lord has wrapped the earth in snow And set my winter heart aglow.
